What is included with a Signature Fine Art Print?

The print, of course, in the size you choose. I personally print, inspect, and sign each of my Signature Fine Art Prints up to and including sizes 15" x 21" and 16" x 20", which are the largest sizes I am able to print myself. Larger sizes are sent to a professional lab that has been vetted by me and I personally inspect and sign each print before sending it to you. The print is hinge-mounted to a single white mat, sized to complement the print. Lab-produced prints may be mounted by a method other than hinge-mounting. The mounted print is then placed in a clear, protective sleeve with a flat backing layer. The print is shipped flat.

Size B, C, and larger mats have v-grooves cut parallel to the window opening. The resulting shadow lines increase the visual interest of the finished piece.

Metal prints of all sizes are produced by a professional lab that has been vetted by me. I personally inspect and sign each metal print on its back. The metal print has one or more (depending on size) metal bracket(s) attached to the back for hanging.

Metal prints look great on their own but look exceptional when mounted in a float frame. This type of framing is not included in the price of the print and requires custom consultation. Please contact me if you are interested in custom metal print framing options and I would be happy to discuss options and prepare a quote.

What about framing?

We offer professional framing services and recommend that you have us do the framing for you. Not only is it less hassle for you, there is more protection for the print and less chance of it being damaged in transit. We use only acrylic glazing on orders for shipment. If you would like your print to be framed, choose one of the framing options when you place your order. Order your frame package using the size code that matches the size code of the print that you are ordering. We will make sure that the dimensions match up precisely.

What do the size codes mean?

To simplify the ordering process, we have grouped similar sizes together into groups A, B, and C. The following chart shows the sizes that have been grouped together and the final dimensions of the matted photograph. Sizes D and larger require custom framing (as noted below). In all cases for all sizes, please contact me with any special requests or requirements. I would be happy to prepare a custom quote.

  • 16" x 24" (landscape format) prints mat to 24" x 30"

Sizes D / E

  • Framing of pieces this large require consultation on frame/glazing/shipping options as the options are many and we need to discuss any special requirements.

Print size refers to the dimensions of the ink rectangle on the paper, not to the paper size. For example, a 7" x 10" image printed on 8-1/2" x 11" paper would be a 7" x 10" print.

The "prints mat to" dimension is the final outside dimension of the finished mat. For example, the outside dimensions of a 7" x 10" print, after matting, would be 11" x 14". It would thus fit into a standard 11" x 14" frame. Frames are sized from the inside. Once a frame has been added, the final framed outside dimension would be greater because of the width of the picture frame moulding.

When ordering a framed print, select the Signature Custom Frame Package whose size code matches the size code of the Signature Fine Art Print.
