I have used The Photographer's Ephemeris (TPE) for advance planning outdoor photography trips for years. It rocks. Seriously rocks.
Its integration with Google Maps gives you satellite view maps of pretty much anywhere on Earth. On top of that it provides visual sun, moon, twilight, and geodetic data so you can play what-if and where-to-shoot-from to your heart's content.
